PFAS & Compost: Navigating Testing & Customer Engagement

July 30 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Compost manufacturers are passive receivers of PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances), and the responsibility of these “forever chemicals” must be addressed upstream. However, as awareness of PFAS continues to grow, compost manufacturers are increasingly being asked whether they test their products for PFAS, what the potential risks are, and how PFAS-related information is communicated to customers.

This webinar brings together perspectives from compost manufacturers, academia, compost laboratories, and legal professionals to provide insight into the best ways to engage customers on the topic and explore the question many composters are asking: should I test my compost for PFAS?

Panelists will discuss their current procedures, weigh the benefits and challenges of PFAS testing, explain how PFAS testing differs from traditional compost analyses, explore customer engagement strategies, and discuss how these issues fit within the legal context. The webinar is intended to provide information and perspectives to support decision-making and does not advocate for or against PFAS testing.
