Do you have compost, agricultural, or waste management experience or a willingness to dive into business planning for compost operations? Join the Bishop Paiute Tribe Food Sovereignty Program (FSP) as Compost Business Operations Planner! 

The Position

The Compost Business Operations Planner will work between Bishop Paiute Tribe FSP, California Alliance for Community Composting, Sierra Compost contractors, and community partners to carry out goals of the Sierra Compost program. 

Goals and expected duties for this position include working within the FSP team (including Compost Systems Technician) to increase capacity and infrastructure of the compost program, develop relationships with community members to increase potential partnerships, and coordinate community material drop-offs among other responsibilities.

Location: Bishop, CA (in-person and hybrid options available)

Timing: This position is expected to run until September 30th, 2026 with flexibility in weekly hours

Experience: Must have a high school diploma or GED. Preferred experience within:

  • compost, agriculture and/or gardening, or commercial/residential waste management
  • business planning, development, and management
  • infrastructure maintenance and development
