The Position
The Farm Assistant is responsible for assisting with the growth of the Tribe’s Suchumumu Regenerative Farm and Composting Program located at the Suchumumu Farm Site in Jamestown, CA. The Farm Assistant will report to the Farm Lead, and in collaboration with the Farm Coordinator, will help execute all Farm tasks and responsibilities. The Farm Assistant will also help coordinate the work of the Tribal Climate Fellows with support from the Farm Lead and Farm Coordinator.
The vision for the Farm Assistant is to help grow and expand the Tribe’s Suchumumu Farm to supply produce to the Casino-Resort, Tribal community, farm stands, local economy market and CSA program. The aim of the Tribal Farm and Composting program is to close the loop on Tribal lands through organic composting and increase the capacity of the Tribe to grow its own food.
